What our past pupils say About Us

As part of the first group to complete the Leaving Certificate in the school, it felt special to grow alongside a new and developing community. The teachers created an environment where students felt comfortable asking for help and pushing themselves to achieve their goals.

Coláiste Bhaile Chláir taught me so much about my personal and professional life. I was inspired by dedicated and ambitious teachers to develop a love for Biology and Home Economics. The strong sense of community and lifelong friendships I formed here inspired me to become an educator myself.

‘My time in Coláiste Bhaile Chláir had a huge impact on me, both personally and academically. What stands out most to me now is the passion and commitment of all staff & teachers, who cared about my growth as an individual, not just my results. The strong sense of community helped me build confidence and explore my interests, and it was this encouragement and inspiration that ultimately led me to become a teacher myself.’

As a past pupil of Coláiste Bhaile Chláir, I really enjoyed my time at the school. Being involved in sports was a big part of my experience, and the teachers were always supportive and encouraging. I made great friends, learned a lot, and I’m very grateful for the opportunities the school gave me both in the classroom and on the field. The academic support from teachers was excellent, and they always pushed us to do our best.

«The school created a great environment for learning as well as sport.»

I really appreciated how CBC embraced technology early and encouraged students to get involved beyond the classroom. During my time there, I had the opportunity to take part in initiatives like the BT Young Scientist and the Microsoft Ambassador programme, which gave me early exposure to technology and problem-solving in a real-world context. What stood out most was how engaged the management and teachers were; there was a genuine effort to support students’ interests, whether academic or extracurricular. That environment made it much easier to take initiative and build confidence. Looking back, it played a big role in shaping how I approach work today, particularly in terms of curiosity and ownership.
