The staff, BOM, Parents Association and all of the other students of Coláiste Bhaile Chláir would like to wish our Third Year students all of the best in their exams this week and next. We have no doubt that all of the hard work you have put in over the past three years will pay off.

On behalf of everyone in Coláiste Bhaile Chláir we are delighted to welcome Ms Claire Kilroy who joins us as Deputy Principal. She joins the management team of Mr Alan Mongey and Ms Emma Ryan.

Coláiste Bhaile Chláir is delighted to now have 2 Deputy Principals with a 3rd to be appointed next year.
Ms Kilroy a native of Caltra in East County Galway and graduated from St Angela’s College Sligo in 2004 with a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) in Home Economics & Biology.

Following postings in Dublin and Galway from 2004-2007 she was appointed a permanent teaching position in Scoil Bhríde, Mercy Secondary School, Tuam in 2007. In June 2015 she became Acting Deputy Principal in Scoil Bhríde and continued in that role until June 2017.

Ms Kilroy brings a lot of expertise to Coláiste Bhaile Chlár, she has a Diploma in PR & Events Management, a Post-graduate Diploma in Educational Leadership from Maynooth University and a Masters of Education (M.Ed.) from NUIG specialising in leadership.

In 2013 she delivered a UCD accredited Diploma to Indian teachers in Silchar, North East India with the charity Global Schoolroom. She trained the teachers in areas of special educational needs, leadership, policy development, building a school community and she also assessed the teachers on teaching practice.

Ms Kilroy is very passionate about the pastoral care of students with a key focus on their mental wellbeing. She has a history of involvement in academic innovation and the pursuit of excellence in teaching and learning. It is a key objective to build relationships with the entire school community and to encourage student leadership to empower the future generations.
